Desire to Build

I was watching television yesterday when I was struck by the sudden desire to build something. It might have had something to do with the fact that I was watching Rob the Construction Worker. The first thing I thought to do was make something out of the toy bricks my kids have lying about everywhere. I spent the next few hours making a castle out of them, but it just didn’t cut it. Next, I tried creating an entire world in Minebuild, but once more, it didn’t get rid of that urge. I needed something bigger.

So, I’m building a building. I don’t know what it’s for, but it’s going to be great. Perhaps it will be the first classroom of a school, or a shop. I don’t know yet. All I know is that yesterday I was inspired to go to the closest hardware store to me and buy as many supplies as I could put in my ute. I got home, and straight to work I went.

I think the foundation is coming along nicely, although it’s not made of concrete or anything. I’ve just laid some bricks on the dirt. I think that will do the trick. Building a house really isn’t that hard (although I don’t know if this will be a house). All you need is a few hundred dollars and some duct tape. As long as you’ve got a roof over your head, it’s a house. I don’t know why anybody would pay thousands for it.

Soon I’ll have to gather whatever building supplies Cheltenham has lying around. There’s plenty of stuff at the local dump. We waste so much in our society. The top of an old car? Perfect for getting the roof started. I’ll take one of the doors off too and stick it at the front of my building once it’s done. It’s coming along very nicely. Whoever ends up using this place is going to be very pleased.
