My Bath Recommendation

I got my bath tub converted and it’s been really good for my body. Coming to the end of my career has meant my feet have been really struggling. Being a nurse means being on your feet for over twelve hours per shift and even as a young girl I felt that was very painful. It was a lot easier to recover from the pain in my early twenties. Now that I’m in my late sixties I am definitely struggling. But alas, this isn’t about my struggles at work. This is about how much I’ve benefited from the professional bath modifications I got recently. And I’ve benefited a lot! I didn’t realise how much of a struggle it was to get in and out of the bath until I didn’t have to do it any more. I didn’t realise the extra strain it was putting on my body and I would’ve just kept going as normal if I hadn’t noticed myself deteriorating in other ways. That’s one of the major perks of being a nurse (other than saving people’s lives, which is obviously the best part).

I’m going to recommend to all my nurse friends who are nearing the end of their career like I am to consider getting bathtub modifications for seniors. In the Sydney CBD, a lot of people don’t like thinking that they’re getting older so this may be a tough few conversations to have. I’m going to try and frame it in a way that it’s just benefitted me so greatly that I think these people should experience the great benefits that I have. We shall see, though. Even if I have the best intentions it may not be taken that way.

I’ll let you all know how the conversations go. I hope that I can make a difference in the lives of my coworkers and help their bodies recover as we near retirement!
